Sunday Blessing: In the Time of Journeying and Separation

Every Sunday night my husband leaves our home to go to work in a city about two and a half hours away. It has not gotten easier to say goodbye but I found this prayer and it has become my mantra for Sunday nights. We all have time of separation from our loved ones and at those times may this prayer be a comfort to you as well.

“O God, Our Father, beyond whose love and care we cannot drift, bless…(Scott) in his journeying today. Bring him in safety to his journey’s end; and let no ill befall him in body, mind, or spirit. Grant that when we are separated from each other, we may ever remember that, though we are absent from one another, we are still present with Thee. And keep us true and faithful to each other until we meet again: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen”
